It is our medical specialty that deals with seriously or critically ill patients who are at risk of recovering from conditions that may be life-threatening. The procedure that we undertake involves life support, invasive monitoring techniques, resuscitation, and end-of-life care.
Our intensive care relies on multidisciplinary teams composed of many different health professionals.
The team accounts for doctors, nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists. They usually work together in intensive care units (ICU) within the hospital.
Indications for the ICU include hypertension/hypotension, sepsis, post-cardiac arrest syndrome or certain cardiac syndrome, or certain cardiac arrhythmia.
Patients may also be admitted to the ICU for close monitoring or intensive needs. Monitoring that our healthcare experts undertake is using various tools and technologies to obtain information about a patient's condition, evaluate blood flow and gas exchange in the body to assess the functions of organs such as the heart and lungs.
